Fonix One is a music player that plays your music. Load a microSD card, or upload over Wi-Fi through the player's own web interface, and listen. No subscriptions, no algorithms, no accounts, and nothing between you and a library you actually own.

The player hosts its own web interface, so loading it up means opening a browser on the same network, no desktop app, no sync tool, no account in between you and a folder of files.

The hardware
Pocket-sized, and built to be lived with
A 2.8-inch touchscreen with album art and visualizers, sixteen hours of playback per charge, and up to two terabytes of storage on a card you can swap yourself. It charges over USB-C and sends audio out over Bluetooth to whatever you already listen on.
The whole thing measures 63 × 90 × 15mm around a 1200mAh cell, in a case that's 3D-printed — which is why the eight colours in the hero are a starting point rather than the whole catalogue.
The decoders are written specifically for the ESP32 platform, which is how a device this size handles FLAC without complaint.
